Torrey Holistics 5th Annual Peanut Butter Drive

As the holiday season was quickly ushered in, Torrey Holistics announced their 5th annual Peanut Butter drive benefitting the nonprofit, Feeding Kids First, to supply and advocate for the cause of ongoing food insecurity among school children within the county of San Diego.

San Diego, CA (December 27, 2021) – The month of November initiated Torrey Holistics’, San Diego’s leading cannabis store, 5th annual Peanut Butter Drive. Feeding Kids First is the founding nonprofit for the program Got Your Back San Diego, which Torrey Holistics has donated the entirety of their collected peanut butter to year after year.

Partnering brands such as Miss Grass, Lowell Herb Co., Canndescent, Baker’s, Dime Bag and Torrey Herb Co. have all generously donated to the drive’s supply of ‘Penny Prerolls’. The simplicity of the transaction- customers donate one jar of peanut butter in exchange for a preroll, would lend to a massive aid for food insecurity county-wide. Donations were given in surplus, with over 2,100+ jars of peanut butter now readily available for youth in need of food assistance.

Co-founder of Got Your Back San Diego, Sue McLeod, has stated that because of Torrey Holistics’ generosity and of all involved with the 5th Annual Peanut Butter Drive, she now has enough supplies to provide an estimated 200 meals over the duration of 10 months. Feeding Kids First has been serving its city through its nonprofit work since 2010, with their foundational philosophy being to supply children reliant on school lunch programs, ensured meals over weekends when school is not in session. However, the current socio-economic climate, due to the global pandemic, has driven up this urgency dramatically for food assistance in San Diego. Now through both the donations from partnering brands and community members, meals will be provided to over 20,000 children countywide.

As an existing entity within San Diego, Torrey Holistics has dedicated its mission to bridging cannabis with community.
