Eco-Conscious Cannabis Brands

There are many challenges that cannabis companies face when it comes to sustainability, which is why we love and value brands that go the extra mile to adopt environmentally-friendly solutions in this burgeoning industry. We hope that you will share our appreciation and support these forward-thinking brands.

Brother David's logo
100% of profits from Brother David’s go toward protecting the land, lives, and communities of our cannabis family — promoting small-scale family farms practicing regenerative organic agriculture, and fighting a system that unjustly criminalizes cannabis. All of Brother David’s products are Sun+Earth Certified, meaning

that the flower they use is grown under the sun, in the soil of Mother Earth, without chemicals, by fairly-paid family farmers.

Flow Kana logo

We believe that everyone should know who grows their cannabis, including where and how it is grown. Flow Kana partners with independent multi-generational farmers who cultivate under full sun, sustainably, and in small batches. Using only organic methods, these stewards of the land have spent their lives balancing a unique and

harmonious relationship between the farm, the genetics and the terroir. The result is an unparalleled product that simply cannot be found anywhere else.

Innovation has been a driving force behind CannaCraft’s success, with over one-hundred unique products, the company has amassed one of the largest product portfolios in California. “By leveraging the latest manufacturing technology and drawing inspiration from production methods used in industries like health and

wellness, pharmaceuticals, and food and beverage, we have introduced one of-a-kind products and manufacturing methods into the cannabis space.” Said Dennis Hunter, CannaCraft Co-founder, adding “As we evolve our products, we remain equally committed to evolving our production standards. This includes improving sustainability and decreasing our carbon footprint.”

Canndescent logo

Canndescent was the first cannabis brand in California to initiate a commercial-scale indoor production facility powered with renewable solar energy. Their 282.6 kilowatt system uses 734 solar modules on seven different carport structures to energize operations such as irrigation, security, artificial lighting, air conditioning,

ventilation, and dehumidification. Canndescent’s solar project reduces annual atmospheric carbon emissions by 365 metric tons (per NREL and EPA estimates) and currently produces enough power to charge an estimated 20% of US smartphones for a day.

CANN Social Tonics logo

At Cann, we believe that cannabis companies have a duty to safeguard the planet that nourishes the plant, and to continuously find ways to have a more sustainable footprint. Broadly speaking, our product uses all-natural, non-GMO ingredients. Our cans are also fully recyclable. Both of these factors lead to

dramatically lower carbon emissions than glass containers or processed ingredients.

Chemistry Logo

The cannabis industry has a plastic problem, and we are actively trying to fix it. We have woven sustainability into our core from the beginning, but at the start of 2020 we realized that we needed to take more immediate action. We vowed to try to be plastic free by the end of the year and started taking more steps to be as sustainable as we could, tracking our steps from sourcing to distributing. We believe environmental justice is social justice.

Here’s an update on our progress:

♻️ We’ve redesigned all of our packaging to be smaller and create less waste.

♻️ Our newest boxes are made from 100% post consumer recycled materials and are FSC certified.

♻️ We’ve re-evaluated our operations and production to cut down on our carbon footprint as much as we can. Waste minimization is an essential aspect of our processing method.

♻️ We’ve always (and will continue) to only source sun-grown cannabis because the sun is a sustainable energy source and has a much lower carbon footprint.

♻️ We have grown our list of Sun & Earth certified farms, organic farms, and regenerative farms. Yay Mother Earth!

♻️We recently became a member of OSC2 (One Step Closer/Organic Sustainable Community) – which is working toward a regenerative global economy and are committed to working with Sun & Earth certified farms.

Jetty Extracts logo

Jetty is dedicated to being as good to mother earth as possible throughout every phase of production. We only utilize organic farming practices, feeding our plants tea that we’ve brewed and all natural compost. Once the material has gone through extraction, that biomass goes right back to soil as compost. Our Solventless biomass

even goes to feed a worm farm! Jetty also has utilized some of the fats and waxes that we extract from the plant to make candles and chapsticks! We’ve even made hand sanitizer from recycled ethanol and added our house derived cannabis terpenes.

Caring for mother earth doesn’t stop with our cultivation and processing! All of Jetty’s packaging is 100% recyclable, and we have a short term goal to eliminate all plastic. We even took the planet into consideration with our energy efficient HVAC system that’s never too hot or never too cold! We’re not perfect, but we’re always trying to be better and work towards a cleaner, greener future!

Kiva Confections logo

We work with a cacao supplier who is over 100 years old and known for their commitment to responsible, sustainable sourcing throughout their supply chain, as well as their uncompromising standards. Illegal practices such as child labor and unsafe working conditions are 100% not tolerated.

The new child-resistant Kiva Bar carton is 100% biodegradable, using a biodegradable film to make the box tear-resistant, instead of the non-recyclable/non-biodegradable laminations that most cannabis companies typically use.

The new child-resistant Terra and Camino tins are all metal and fully recyclable, a huge improvement to our previous tins, which used non-recyclable plastic inserts.

Why has Kiva taken the effort and expense to create a more sustainable footprint? Because we care about the plant, the planet and all of its people. And we believe that it’s up to each of us to make changes both big and small in order to create a viable future for us all.

Sun+Earth Certified logo

Look for the Sun+Earth Seal

Sun+Earth Certified is dedicated to shifting the cannabis cultivation industry toward a cleaner, healthier, and more ethical future. A first-of-its-kind nonprofit certification for regenerative organic cannabis, the Sun+Earth seal is based on a rigorous set of standards for cannabis grown in the soil of mother earth, under the sun, by fairly paid farmers and farm workers.

weed like change

The Weed Like Change campaign is led by a coalition of Sun+Earth Certified farms and brands, partner dispensaries, allied businesses and nonprofits.

More than ever it is critical to support regenerative organic craft farmers who are under extreme threat of extinction.

Sun+Earth Certified logo

Despite legislation falling short to protect small farms from large-scale industrial cannabis, this coalition has remained true to land-based community values and regenerative organic practices that craft cannabis was built on.

We believe it feels better to consume cannabis that is grown in ways that honor our place in the web of life. Learn more…
