Peanut Butter Drive

Even before the pandemic began, food insecurity was a huge problem for many San Diegans. Now, with COVID-19 uprooting lives throughout the region, never has the situation been more dire. That’s why, for the fourth year in a row, Torrey Holistics is partnering with Got Your Back San Diego to provide food for some of the County’s most vulnerable children.

For the entire month of December, we are offering a $1 Torrey Herb Co. pre-roll to every customer who donates an (up to) 16 ounce plastic jar of peanut butter.*

*Valid throughout December or while supplies last.

About Got Your Back San Diego

Got Your Back SD is a weekend food assistance program developed specifically for children attending San Diego County schools who have been identified as homeless and/or food insecure. Every week volunteers deliver backpacks full of food to local Tri-City schools. Each backpack contains 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches, 2 dinners, and a few healthy snacks, enough food to sustain a child through the weekend.

Giving Tuesday Community Cleanup

This Giving Tuesday (December 1st), the Torrey Holistics staff teamed up to clean up the neighborhood — collecting over 15 pounds of trash in the process!

Several of the most commonly found items included cigarette butts, empty cans/bottles, and Torrey Holistics exit bags and product packaging. As the age-old backpacking saying goes, remember to “pack it in and pack it out,” and when in doubt, feel free to ask the Torrey staff where to properly dispose of your waste.

Sun+Earth Certified Awareness Campaign

One unfortunate reality of the cannabis industry, as it stands, involves a whole new crop of challenges in regards to environmental preservation. From resource-intensive childproof packaging to mandatory exit bags, many of these environmental issues stem from state and local regulations. That being said, there are many ways that cannabis growers can minimize — and even reverse — the environmental impacts of their operations.

Sun+Earth Certified is one non-profit organization seeking to incentivize farmers to grow their cannabis regeneratively — in the soil of mother earth, under the sun, by fairly paid farmers and farm workers. The certification is based on a rigorous set of standards intended to shift the cannabis cultivation industry toward a cleaner, healthier, and more ethical future.

Sun+Earth Certified mission statement

This month, Torrey Holistics is the only San Diego dispensary helping Sun+Earth raise awareness around their certification. Click here to learn more about Sun+Earth Certified and how you can support them in their mission to bring organic, regeneratively-grown cannabis to all!
